I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but maybe someone else has experienced this! I just got out of a four year relationship, my ex-boyfriend and I have a 2 year old Mini Aussie and an almost 4 year old brown tabby cat together. We were living at my Mom's house up until the break up 2 months ago. My Mom has an 8 year old border collie mix who gets along with our pets great. They are all best friends who play together and sleep together and just

together and just are so sweet to each other. My cat teases my Mom's dog and vice versa but other than that it's a great time with them all. Anyways, my boyfriend moved out after the breakup and I decided to keep living at my Mom's to reset my life and catch up financially now that I am single. But it's the craziest thing! The pets have completely switched their personalities. All 3 sleep with me every night

and stay with me all night which they never used to do. They are all more energetic and loving and vocal and they follow me around the house and want to be around me constantly. When my boyfriend was living here my Mom was their favorite and the one they did this stuff to. But ever since my ex boyfriend left, it's like night and day. My question is, do you think my pets could sense

that my boyfriend was “bad energy" or not good for me? This sounds dumb but it's just so shocking to me how much happier they seem. Do you think pets can sense bad energy from people/ if they're not a good person? Has anyone else seen such a drastic change in their pets behavior after a breakup/someone moving out? Thanks for reading everyone! TLDR; My ex-bf moved out and my pets behavior has shifted drastically, they seem more comfortable.

unripeswan 2 days ago They definitely know something is going on and you need the extra love right now. They also could be happier if your ex had bad vibes or didn't treat you/them well. My dog had picked up some bad habits and behavioural issues living with my ex, I

guess due to stress and witnessing a lot of yelling etc. Now that it's just us two again he's done a 180 and is back to being the happiest, goofiest, bestest boy.

Accomplished_Drag946 2 days ago My cats also spend way more time with me when my boyfriend leaves (he travels a lot) he is the best and is so good to the cats. But in all honesty when he is here I give him lots of attention. I think when he is gone they feel like they have their mum back only for themselves. That's all.

    • ccarrieandthejets · 2 days ago I kept the pets in my divorce which involved lots of yelling. Once he moved out, my dogs became renewed and had so much more life and vigor and were peaceful and happy. I didn't realize how much my t cex was bringing them down too. I met my current partner and they're obsessed with him and became

even better versions of themselves when he started coming around and eventually moved in. It's like he hand picked them they love him so much. Animals definitely pick up on bad vibes from people.

Kossyra 2 days ago My animals definitely missed my ex and looked for him. They were more vocal than usual. They were pretty clingy too, but I thought it was a iety from losing my ex from the household. They wanted to make sure the other human didn't vanish, too!

Its ks because I can't explain human drama to animals. They don't understand. It took some time before they adjusted to the new situation.

Pvt-Snafu 2 days ago Animals are very sensitive to human energy. They're much more comfortable with you.

Friendly-Push627 2 days ago • They definitely know if someone is good or bad imo. I used to always use my dog to see if she liked someone or not, if she didn't they weren't good people if she did they were.

DoublePatience8627 2 days ago This happened to me. My ex and I had 2 cats that absolutely hated one another to the point where they could never be in the same room. We would separate them everytime we left the house and could not watch them. It was a nightmare. We got divorced and I kept them both and they've loved each other and have been my little buddies ever since.

moresnowplease 1 day ago When I got divorced, our dog came with me. He definitely became more aware of me and made sure I was there more often, coming to check on me and not going too far away from me. He had always gone with me most days in the car before the divorce, but his closeness intensified significantly afterwards. He was such a good boy, we had always been close, but that experience brought us much closer.

Typical_Hedgehog6558 17 hr. ago Yes, they absolutely can. My POUNCEY stayed upstairs in my house (where my office is) for 2 YEARS because my ex was a d k. Ex moved out, POUNCEY now uses the entire house as he chooses. That was the straw for me - anyone who my cats don't like, I don't like.
